Final Video Project

For my final video story, I decided to stick with my original idea of the memory lane slide show. Since riding horses has not been a big part of my life since I have been in college, I thought collecting some of my best moments and putting them together was very fitting for this project. It relates to my project because it captures everything I have worked on throughout the semester and the essence of what barn life truly means to me. I came up with the idea for my video when I was scroll through my pictures and remembered how happy my horses made me. It is impossible to put it into words, so I thought sharing it in a video may help. For the design inspiration, I watched YouTube videos that had the general memory lane feel. Nothing really helped that much, but I already had an idea in my head. All of the elements in my video hold significance to me, especially the photo of my friend who passed away (as I mentioned in the draft post). After I decided which photos and videos I wanted to use, I imported them to premiere and began the process. I put the videos in the order that I wanted and adjusted the scale for each one so there was no black space on the screen. Then I went in and added effects to the videos and photos I thought needed them. Then I went Then I went to www.bensound.comto find background music that I liked. Once I found one I liked, I found the creative commons license to make sure I could use it. Then I downloaded and imported it and dragged it to the audio 1 section. After that, I created a title page for the end that said, “Video and Editing by Logan Goetz”. It had originally had the title of the video on it as well, but after reading the peer feedback, I took the advice of adding a title page to the beginning as well. Some other changes I made to the final included adding two more photos. I added a photo to the beginning which is where I put the title page which said, “The True Barn Family”. I also added another photo near the end which I found, and it adds some of the horse show essence in as well. I lengthened the music to match the video and added a few more transitions. The biggest technical challenge I faced was uploading my video to YouTube. I had to figure out how to decrease the file size of my project. After looking it up, I finally got it to a size that was able to be uploaded.
