My favorite projects during this semester were all on Photoshop. I really enjoyed learning about all the tools and creative things that could be done. I also liked being able to have my own artistic ability when working on the logo project in Illustrator. It was fun to completely design the logo from scratch and come up with a bunch of ideas.
All of the skills we learned about copyright and properly citing sources will be used in my future I plan on having a ton more papers to write, and there is no limit to how much you can learn to improve your writing skills. I also could see myself using the graphic design skills for designing a company website, business card, and logo.
I am psychology major with a human development minor. I plan on going to grad school to get my masters, and maybe, eventually my PhD. All of the written blog posts will help me in the future. Psychology classes require a lot of research and papers, as I mentioned earlier, the work we did on copyright will help me immensely when it comes to research papers. Also the audio story telling skills we learned, especially in the final audio story, may help me if I ever need to create any podcasts or voiceovers for research experiments. But, for now, having a basic knowledge of all of the Adobe applications we worked with will help me go above and beyond in the rest of my undergrad courses.
I wish we would have worked on more of a business level. While the class was fun, and the projects were creative, it was hard to direct my course topic to anything related to psychology because I am only a second year. So, I guess I wish the topic did not have to go so in depth.
Most of the websites/ resources I used from outside class material was extremely useful because it’s where I got my background music and sound effects. The two sites I used and liked best were www.orangefreesound.comand www.bensound.com. The orangefree is more useful for sound effects, in my opinion, and bensound has some great background music. Overall, I thought the class was fun and useful!
